Google Invests $200M In Texas Wind Farm
Internet search giant Google has made a $200M, equity investment in a Texas wind farm, the company said Wednesday, part of a series of renewable energy investments that have been made by Google. Google said it invested in the Spinning Spur Wind Project, in Oldham County, near Amarillo, as part of its efforts to help provide capital to the renewable energy sector. The 161 megawatt facility was built by EDF Renewable Energy, a renewable project developer which also has other Texas projects. Google said the energy from the project has been contracted to SPS, a utility that primarily serves Texas and New Mexico.
