Google Invests $75M More In Another Texas Wind Project
Internet giant Google said this week that it invested $75M more in a Texas wind farm, the latest in a series of wind investments the company has made in the sate. According to Google, it is investing $75M in the Panhandle 2 wind farm in Carson County, outside of Amarillo. The new facility--currently under construction--will have a capacity of 182MW, enough to power over 56,000 homes. Google invested $200M in another Texas wind farm, Spinning Spur, last year, and also has deals to purchase power generated from other Texas wind energy operators.
