Amazon Launches Giant Texas Wind Farm In Scurry County

E-commerce giant Amazon has launched a giant wind farm in Texas, the Amazon Wind Farm Texas, which it says will produce enough energy to power over 330,000 homes annually. Amazon says the wind farm--its largest yet--will generate over 1,000,000 MWh of clean energy each year. The wind farm is located near Snyder, in Scurry County, and includes more than 100 turbines. Amazon said the Amazon Wind Farm Texas is built, owned, and operated by Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE). As part of the announcement and launch of the wind farm, Amazon said it is donating $50,000 to the Snyder Education Foundation to provide students and teachers with STEM learning opportunities.
