Pervasive Agrees To Actian Buyout

Austin-based Pervasive Software has agreed to the acquisition of the firm by Actian, in a deal worth $162M. The deal came after a number of months of back and forth between the companies, after an unsolicited offer by Actian in August of last year for around $154M. Pervasive, which develops database management software, said the company's management team supports the transaction, which is expected to close in spring; Pervasive had hired a financial advisor after the unsolicited bid last year.
