Sabre: American Airlines Outage Not Our Fault
American Airlines is back on track this morning, after an all-day outage of the firm's reservations systems yesterday grounded the company's entire fleet. According to American's website, all of its systems are now online and fully restored. American had blamed connectivity issues with Sabre for the halt in flights; however, in a tersely worded statement from Southlake, Texas-based Sabre, Sabre said that American Airlines "mistakenly reported they were having an issue with the Sabre reservations system" and that its systems were all operating as normal and had been all day. Sabre is widely used by air carriers to manage their reservations systems, and no other carriers appear to have run into the same issues as American.
