Civitas Learning Gets $8.75M For Education Software
Austin-based Civitas Learning, which develops an online student learning platform, said today that it has raised $8.75M in funding. The funding was led by Emergence Capital Partners, and also included Austin Ventures, First Round Capital and Floodgate, as well as new investors Felicis Ventures and New Markets Venture Partners.
Civitas Learning develops software to help students better select their majors and classes and is being used by colleges and universities to improve their graduation rates, and help identify students who might need outreach and support. The firm is led by Charles Thornburgh. Civitas said it will use the funding to accelerate expansion of its platform and software ecosystem, including hiring new talent, and doubling its employee base in the next year.
