Civitas Learning Snags Facebook Exec As New CTO

Austin-based Civitas Learning, which develops software to help improve student learning and education, said today that it has named Niranjan Nagar as its Chief Technology Officer. Nagar was most recently head of apps and games and global vertical marketing lead at Facebook. He also has served as a VP at Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and Electronic Arts. Civitas Learning said Nagar will focus on a wide range of activities, including building and desining its overall mobile and app strategy, as well as work on its core technology infrastructure. Civitas is backed by Emergence Capital Partners, Austin Ventures, First Round Capital, Floodgate, Felicis Ventures and New Markets Venture Partners.
