Telligent Scoops Up Zimbra

Dallas-based Telligent, the developer of online customer service and community software, has acquired ZimbraVMware, the company said Monday, a major move by the company in the online collaboration software space. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. VMware had acquired Zimbra from Yahoo back in 2010, in a deal worth $100M in cash. According to Telligent, the deal was backed by Intel Capital, NXT Capital Venture Finance, BDCA, Hall Financial Group and VMware, and will help the company accelerate the growth and leadership of the combined company.
