Uber Faces Opposition From Dallas
Smartphone-driven ride service Uber is facing off with Dallas City Hall over its services in the city--even as a Texas private equity firm has taken a major stake in the startup. The Dallas News says that the Dallas City Council has scheduled a vote on Wednesday to redefine what a limousine service is--to stymy Uber's expansion into Dallas. Uber has been operating in Dallas since last year. Uber just raised a big funding round from Fort Worth investor TPG Capital.
