Lab7 Takes On DNA Sequencing Data Management Tools

Austin-based Lab7 Systems said today that it has launched a new set of software aimed at helping streamline genomic data processing for the bioinformatics industry. According to the company, it has launched a new software toolkit and new service for DNA sequencing management, based on a collection of open source bioinformatics tools. Lab7 said its set of software runs on both Linux and Mac OS X platforms, and helps bioinformatics labs better manage building and maintaining those tools. Lab7 says those open source tools are tied to its own, software platform, Lab7 Dashboard, which it is developing to allow labs to manage sequencing projects, workflows, and pipelines. Lab7 offers up a wide range of consulting services related to bioinformatics, including helping to develop software, help implement infrastructure, training, and more.
