Genialis Finds $2.3M For Gene Sequence Exploration Software

Houston-based Genialis, a developer of software used for the visual exploration of genetic sequencing data, said on Monday afternoon that it has raised $2.3M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Redapline Venture Capital and First Star Venture Capital, and also included Pikas d.o.o. and angels. Genialis develops software for biologists, which is used for navigating next generation genetic sequencing data. The company said the funding goes towards expansion in the United States, plus commercialization of its platform. Genialis has a partnership with Baylor College of Medicine. The company's other locations are in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Ljubljana, Slovenia. More information »
