Teladoc Acquires Consult A Doctor

Dallas-based Teladoc, which provides telemedicine services, said this morning that it has acquired fellow telehealth company Consult A Doctor. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Teladoc said the acquisition will help expand its offerings and capabilities to new market segments. Teladoc provides access to physicians via phone or online video, for non-emergency medical issues. Consult A Doctor provides its services to small- and medium-sized businesses. Teladoc is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Cardinal Partners, HLM Venture Partners, Trident Capital, and New Capital Partners, and raised a big round of funding last year.
