Houston Boots Up Spaceport Effort
The Houston Airport System is hoping to become a center for the commercial space industry, and recently unveiled plans for the creation of a new Spaceport at Ellington Airport According to the airport system, it is working on a gaining a federal license to run a spaceport, and also released conceptual drawings for the spaceport. The Houston Airport System said it is hoping to become the nation's ninth licensed spaceport. The system released conceptual drawings of a possible terminal facility, aviation museum, and other faiclities aimed at supporting component and composite fabrication, space vehicle assembly, launching of micro-satellites, Astronaut training, zero gravity experimentation and space tourism from the new spaceport.
