TI: $440,152 Donated For Typhoon Haiyan Relief
Dallas-based Texas Instruments reports this morning that its employees, retirees, and its nonprofit support group, the Texas Instruments Foundation, has contributed a total of $440,152 to the American Red Cross Typhoon Appeal, to help those who were affected by the supertyphoon in the Philippines last month. According to Texas Instruments, it matched $170,000 in employee and retiree donations to the effort, in addition to contributing $100,000 from the TI Foundation. TI has major operations in the Philippines, although its facilities were not affected by the Typhoon; TI said it is the largest exporter in the Philippines, and has operations in Baguio and Clark, Pampanga.
