GameStop: The Next Internet Bank?
In a move not at all sanctioned by the videogame retailer--Internet gamers have apparently come up with a way to use GameStop as an impromptu bank. According to multiple reports, at least one videogamer has started using pre-ordered games at the Grapevine, Texas-based retailer's stores as a way to store their cash, taking advantage of the large number of pre-order and pre-launch games available at the retailer--and liberal return policies on those pre-ordered titles--as a way to safely store their cash. In a widely quoted post, the user says "Whenever I need money, I go to the nearest gamestop and ask for my money back on a game I don't want and make a withdrawal".
