GameStop Launches GameStop Technology Institute

Grapevine, Texas-based videogame retailer GameStop said today that it has launched something called the GameStop Technology Institute, a new business unit aimed at developing technology advancements for the retail space. GameStop said the new business unit already as inked a deal with IBM and the Center for Retailing Studies at Texas A&M University's Mays Business School, where the two will work with the company to develop "new, innovative business applications" for retail locations. GameStop said that executive Jeff Donaldson will chair the direction and efforts of the new institute, in the role of Senior Vice President of the GameStop Technology Institute.
