Gazzang Expand Key Management Service In The UK

Austin-based Gazzang said Monday that it has expanded its efforts in the United Kingdom, and has rolled out its hosted, key management service, Gazzang zTrustee, in the country through a local UK-based data center. Gazzang had previously offered the service worldwide, but only through its US-based data centers. Gazzang's move is a bid to gain more confidence from international users, due to stricter laws governing sensitive and personally identifiable data in the UK. Gazzang's service lets companies manage their data encryption keys, web and SSL certifications, SSH keys, and other similar keys and certificates in the cloud. There has been some debate over the relative privacy of cloud-based data stored in the US versus internationally, due questions over the USA PATRIOT Act.
