NetSpend Powers Prepaid Card For Western Union

Austin-based NetSpend., which provides prepaid debit cards and other financial services, reported this week that it is powering a new, co-branded, prepaid card for Western Union. NetSpend said the card will be available later thi syear. Financial details of the deal were not announced. NetSpend said the card is focused on the 68 million Americans who are financially underserved and who do not have access to traditional forms of banking. The two said they will joinedly develop the co-branded card, via Western Union's network of banks, retail and grocery chains, and independent locations.
