Droughtbuster: Banyan Water Cuts Water Usage, Footprint

Can technology help mitigate the drought that is hitting a large part of the United States? Austin-based Banyan Water thinks so, saying this morning that its technology and services--used by commercial and institutional clients to manage and reduce their water use--has so far saved its clients 1.25 billion gallons of water since 2011. The company said that's enough water to supply 160,000 homes for a month. Banyan Water offers up a range of services aimed at managing water usage, using such things as a smart irrigation controller, which is used by its clients to manage their water usage. The company also said it has released an indoor, flow monitoring product aimed to measure indoor water use, as well. Banyan Water is led by Gillan Taddune.
