HID Global Launches Mobile Effort

Austin-based HID Global said this morning that it has launched a new effort to help companies use smartphones and other mobile devices to replace keys and smart cards. According to HID Global, its new set of solutions will support the iPhone and Android, and includes a set of mobile enabled readers, a software portal, and other products. The company said the new effort is an expansion by the company beyond its traditional access control readers, panels, cards, and software.
