HID Global Launches Location Service Offering

Austin-based HID Global, best known for its employee access cards and other products, said it has expanded its offerings to location services--allowing companies to track where their workforce is in a particular facility. According to HID Global, the new tools make it possible to analyze room usage for better building management and increased operational efficiency. The new HID Location Services offering comes thanks to HID Global's recent acquisition of Bluvision, and the use of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. HID Global acquired Bluvision in December.
