GameStop Expands Layaway Program
Dallas-based GameStop said Wednesday that it has expanded its holiday layway program, and will let its customers use the program for a wider range of products this year. The company said that the products that can be purchased using layway include consoles like the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox 360, tablets from Samsung and ASUS, Seagate hard drives, and a whole selection of audio headsets from Beats and others. Layaways are the program where a consumer reserves a product and slowly completes payments over time for a purchase, and are popular with consumers with a limited income who are unable to purchase a product in full; the programs also are frequently used by those who do not or cannot qualify for credit cards.
