SwRI Gets $9.9M Grant For Solar Power Technology
San Antonio-based Southwest Research Institute said this week that it has received a $9.9M grant, from the U.S. Department of Energy, on a project to improve the efficiency of solar power plants. According to SwRI, the contract is part of a continuation contract to manufacture and test a high-efficiency supercritical CO2 (sCO2) hot gas turbo-expander and compact heat exchangers for concentrating solar power (CSP) plants. The award came via the DoE SunShot Initiative.
