Dell To Invest $125 Billion In China
Round Rock-based Dell said late Wednesday evening that it is ramping up its efforts in China, and will invest $125 billion into the country and support job creation there, as part of what it says is a long term commitment to the Chinese market. Dell said that the effort is part of a new "In China, for China" strategy for the company, which also includes expansion of its research and development team in the country, investments by and entry by Dell Ventures into the Chinese market, and a link with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The new move--announced by Michael Dell--is part of a plan to "deeply integrate" Dell's future development planning into China's economy and "Chinese policies", according to the company.
