Square Expands Payroll Service To Texas

Square, the provider of the popular mobile payment service for small businesses, said last week that it has launched a new service into Texas--the ability to manage payroll for small business users. According to Square, the launch of Square Payroll is the second market for Square's new service, the first state since Square launched the new service in California earlier this year. Square said its new payroll tools are specifically aimed at businesses with hourly employees, letting employees clock in right ta the register, and handling all federal and state payroll tax payments for those businesses. Square says it is charging $20 a month plus $5 per employee paid during that month for the service.
