Younicos Finds $50M In Funding For Utility Scale Storage
Austin- and Berlin-based Younicos, which develops energy storage products, has raised $50M in a growth capital funding. The funding came from First Solar, Grupo ECOS, and an un-named, strategic lead investor. According to the company, the funds go towards further scaling its intelligent energy storage solutions. Younicos is led by James P. McDougall, and has operations in both Austin and Kyle, Texas, along with Berlin, Germany. Younicos' energy storage system is based on large banks of lithium ion batteries.
