OpenKey Wins First International Customer

Dallas-based OpenKey reported its first international win this morning, in Europe, with the Parkhotel luxury hotel in Valkenbeurg, Netherlands. Financial details of the win was not announced. According to OpenKey, Parkhotel will use the company's app as a digital key to its guestrooms, and even allowing guests to check into the hotel remotely. OpenKey said Parkhotel is its first, international hotel to adopt its technology. OpenKey develops iOS and Android apps, and is a backed by a consortium of hotel ownership and management companies. OpenKey is looking to help provide an open standard for "smart locks" and related mobile apps, which hotels and others can implement across different hotel chains and different lock hardware and hospitality management software.
