SailPoint Receives Software Patent

Austin-based SailPoint announced today that it has received a patent, which it says covers its Identity-as-a-Service technology. The patent, number 9,319,395, was actually granted on April 19th, and names Craig Robert William Forster, Daniel Thomas Greff, Crandall B.T. Chow, and Phillip Goldenburg as inventors. The patent as filed on June 27, 2014, with SailPoint being represented by Sprinke IP Law Group. SailPoint said its patent covers the "uniquely differentiated way" that SailPoint protects the administrative credentials to applications and data which are required to support enterprise identity governance and provisioning services.
