Crossroads Systems Taps Patent Broker To Unload Patent Portfolio

Austin-based Crossroads Systems, which owns a numberof storage area networking related patents, and has been pursuing an aggressive, patent litigation strategy, said it has tapped patent broker Aqua Licensing to sell its portfolio of patent--except for its primary, '972 patent. Crossroads Systems says the portfolio includes 141 other patents, and are owned by a limited partnership controlled by an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group, and include patents around optimizing command processing, enabling interoperability, managing the network, enhancing tape libraries, and improving data systems. The sale comes due to a after a patent invalidation in January.
