WP Engine Rolls Out PHP 7 Compatibility Tool

Austin-based WP Engine, the provider of WordPress hosting services, said on Thursday that it has rolled out a brand new tool to help users verify that their PHP scripts will run on the new PHP 7 platform. The company said its new PHP Compatibility Checker can test Wordpress website code, before upgrading to the newest, PHP 7. Code compatibility between different version of PHP is an ongoing struggle for coders, as the highly dynamic platform is continually adding and deleting features and functions. WP Engine diplomatically says the upgrade to PHP 7 includes the "most pivotal" changes to the platform since PHP 5 in 2004.
