Encore Vision Acquired By Novartis AG

Fort Worth-based Encore Vision, a developer of opthalmic technology aimed at treating presbyopia has been acquired by Novartis AG. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Encore Vision was founded by William Burns, and is backed by the Cowtown Angels and Bios Partners, and is part of the TECH Fort Worth business incubator. According to the Cowtown Angels, the acquisition is the very first exit from its portfolio of companies. Encore Vision is developing an eye drop which helps soften the eye lens, which can help improve near distance vision issues in people with presbyopia.
