TPG Growth Backs Vision Esports In $38M Funding

Fort Worth-based private equity investor TPG Growth is one of the lead investors in a funding round for a new, eSports compan, Vision Esports, Vision Esports said on Thursday. Vision Esports, which invests in Esports companies, said it raised $38M in a funding round, which was led by Evolution Media (backed by the Creative Artists Agency, CAA) and TPG Growth, and also included a number of organizations and athletes from the professional sports field, including Odell Beckham Jr., the New York Yankees, the St. Louis Cardinals; Kevin Durant & Rich Kleiman of The Durant Company; Shamrock Holdings (the investment arm of the Disney family); Seth Bernstein Capital Management; Simon Tikham (First Access Entertainment), along with others. The company is based in Beverly Hills, California. Vision Esports said that, as part of the funding, it has invested in three other eSports companies--Echo Fox, Twin Galaxies and Vision Entertainment. Terms of those investments were not announced.
