car2go Releases Growth Numbers

Car sharing service car2go--which now has its North American headquarters in Austin--says it now has 2.2 million members globally, after growing its customer base by 43 percent in its fiscal 2016. The company says its highest membership growth was in Madrid, Berlin, and Vancouver. Here in the U.S., car2go says the most number of members is in Seattle, where it has more than 85,000 members. car2go's international headquarters are in Stuttgart, Germany; the company established its presence in North America when it acquired Austin's Ridescout back in 2014. car2go is a unit of Daimler.
