Car2Go Claims Increases In Usage, Membership

Car2go, the car sharing service whose U.S. headquarters is based in Austin, claimed it saw an increase of 40 percent in usage year-over-year, and added nearly 100,000 new members since January. Car2Go--which is owned by Daimler--claimed it saw a usage increase of 40 percent year-over-year in the first half of 2017, with more than 4.5 million trips taken so far this year using its service, attributing that increase in part due to the addition of Mercedes-Benz vehicles to its service. car2go North America's CEO is Paul DeLong. The company says its most members are in Vancouver, with over 135,000 members, and Seattle, which has more than 95,000 members. Car2Go's first market in the u.S. was in Austin, where it opened in 2009.
