3D Printing Startup SiMMo3D Aims At Healthcare Training, Snags Seed Funding

Temple, Texas-based SiMMo3D, a new biotech startup, said Thursday that it has launched its first product, a set of 3D printed, simulated models of human organs--used for surgical planning, biomedical research and education. The company said it is 3D printing accurate replicas of both healthy and diseased organs, for use in medical training. SiMMo3D said it has received $20,000 in seed funding for its efforts, from the Temple Health and Bioscience District (THBD) incubator. The startup says its organs mimics the texture and visual aesthetic of body tissue and human anatomy with synthetic polymer resin. Ryan Quinn is CEO and Co-Founder of SiMMo3D.
