Mach1 Aims At On-Demand Roadside Service
A new, San Antonio-based startup, Mach1 says it is developing a "fully automated", on-demand roadside assistance app, and is looking to recruit service providers for its yet-to-be-launched, nationwide network. According to Mach1, it is developing an app which dispatches service providers to aid motorists, offering up such services as tow truck services, out-of-fuel assistance, fixing a flat tire, and many other non-emergency, roadside assistance situations. The startup, co-founded by Rick and Laura Narpaul, says it is hoping to build out its own nationwide network of on-demand roadside providers, and hopes to launch its apps in the first quarter of 2019. The company says it is in the midst of a "pre-seed" funding round and aims at a seed funding by Q3 or Q4. Mach1 says it is in beta testing of its service, which it says will be the "Uber of roadside assistance".
