Amazon Plans To Hire 1,000 At New Houston Fulfillment Center
E-commerce giant Amazon.com said it is opening its tenth fulfillment center in Texas, this time in Houston, creating another 1,000 full time jobs in the city. The new site will be located in Katy, and will be the second in the Houston area. Amazon says it now has more than 10,000 full-time employees across its existing, seven facilities in the state; two others--another in Houston, and another in Coppell--are still under construction. Amazon said employees at the new site will pick, pack and ship larger-sized customer items, such as music equipment, sports gear, and electronics.
