BMC Software May Acquire CA, Says Report
Houston-based BMC Software and competitor CA are mulling a $25 billion merger and take-private deal, according to Bloomberg, which would be the biggest tech buyout since Dell. According to Bloomberg, citing "people familiar with the process", the deal would have BMC acquire CA, which would take CA private. BMC Software is owned by Bain Capital, Golden Gate Capital, GIC Special Investments Pte Ltd and Insight Venture Partners, which took the software company private in 2013. Both BMC Software and CA provide a wide range of enterprise software.
