Ambiq Micro Brings Latest Funding Round Up To $34.0M
Austin-based low power semiconductor developer Ambiq Micro has raised $34.0M in funding, as part of an ongoing, $39.0M equity funding effort, according to a regulatory filing by the firm in recent weeks. Financial details of the investment have not yet been announced. The filing indicates 43 investors participated so far in the funding round, which kicked off in June of 2017. Ambiq Micro is developing ultra low power microcontrollers (MCUs), based on the ARM architecture, which are targeted for use in wearables and other applications. Ambiq's Chairman and CEO is Fumihide Esaka; Esaka has been CEO of the company since December of 2015, after serving as CEO of power conversion semiconductor developer Transphorm.
