Ambiq Micro Gets $2.4M
Ambiq Micro, a developer of energy efficient microcontrollers, said today that it has raised $2.4M in a seed round of funding for the firm. The round was led by DFJ Mercury, and also included ARM, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Cisco, The Frankel Fund, Huron River Ventures and other private investors. The firm said it will use the funding to accelerate its business "to the next level", including expanding its engineering, sales, and marketing teams. Ambiq's processors are based on the 32-bit ARM Cortex. On its website, Ambiq lists is headquarters in Michigan, where the firm's technology was developed; however, on the funding release, the firm says it is now based in Austin. More information »
