Smarter Sorting Ups Seed Funding To $9.3M

Austin-based Smarter Sorting, which develops technology to help municipalities better meet sustainability and environmental compliance goals by automatically sorting items in their waste stream, said last week that its seed funding round has risen to $9.3M. The company had announced $5M in that seed funding back in March. Smarter Sorting's technology to scan, sort, and process chemical waste, which can be sold to buyers specifically looking for latex, oil-based paint, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, household products and other products.
