Trend Micro Aims At IoT Device Makers

Dallas-based cybersecurity and antivirus software developer Trend Micro said this week that it is launching a new program specifically aimed at Internet-of-Things (IoT) device markers. According to the company, it is launching something it calls its "Zero Day Initiative", which will look to minimize vulnerabilities in IoT devices. According to the company, it is inviting device makers to submit their devices to the company--before they hit the market--in order to get help assessing possible vulnerabilities. Trend Micro said it launched the program because it's "highly problematic" to patch IoT devices once they are in the market.
