Skybox Datacenters Wins New Client In Houston For 15MW Data Center
Houston-based data center operator Skybox Datacenters, which has data centers in both Dallas and Houston, has scored a big win in Houston with an oil and gas customer. According to the firm, it signed Australian company DownUnder GeoSolutions (DUG) as a client. Financial terms of the deal were not announced, however, Skybox said it will run a 15 megawatt data center for DUG at its Houston campus. The new data center will include what Skybox said will be the "fastest supercomputer in the world", using 40,000 servers, with a throughput of over 250 single precision petaflops of computing speed. The new facility is expected to be operational by February of 2019.
