AlertMedia Raises $25M In New Funding
Austin-based emergency communications software developer AlertMedia said on Thursday that it has raised $25M in a funding round from JMI Equity. As part of the funding, Bob Nye, General Partner of JMI Equity has joined the company's board of directors. According to AlertMedia, the new funds will go towards strategic growth initiatives, including new product development, international expansion, and hiring. AlertMedia says it has now raised a total of $42M, from investors including Next Coast Ventures and Silverton Partners. AlertMedia's software is used by organizations to monitor for events which might impact their employees, including hurricanes, wildfires, terrorist attacks, winter weather, network outages, and active shooter scenarios. The company says its software then automatically dispatches alerts via text, email, mobile app, voice, and social media.
