Baicells Raises $14.55M From Qualcomm
Plano, Texas-based Baicells, a developer of LTE, 5G "small cell" technology, has raised $14.55M in a funding round from Qualcomm, the company revealed over the holidays. The investment came from Qualcomm Ventures LLC. Baicell is led by founder and CEO Lixin Sun. The company says it is developing 5G technology based on "modularized architecture, virtualized technology and fog computing". Baicells is targeting mobile operators, broadband access operators, cable operators, mobile virtual operators, governments and enterprise private networks with its products.
