Gazzang Names Global Sales Head

Austin-based database security software developer Gazzang is staffing up its sales ranks today, saying it has named Brian Brogan as Vice President of Global Sales. Brogan is joining the firm from Verint Systems, and also has served at Openwave Systems, EMC, Legato Systems, Fujitsu Siemens, and IBM. Gazzang, which is headed by Larry Warnock and venture backed by Austin Ventures and Silver Creek Ventures, develops Linux-based encryption software for a variety of open source and other databases, to help companies secure the data in those databases.
