Alereon Gets $4M

Austin, Texas-based Alereon has raised $4M in a venture capital round, the firm announced this week. The round came from Samsung Ventures. Alereon is developing ultrawideband (UWB) semiconductors for the mobile and wireless USB space. Samsung said the investment was made because Alereon's products address Samsung's potential future implementations of Wireless USB and UWB. Samsung Ventures is Samsung Electronics investment arm.
