Alereon Wins Imation

Austin-based Alereon reports this morning that it has been selected as part of a new line of wireless A/V extenders from Imation. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Alereon said that Imation's new Link Wireless Audio/Video Extender uses its NoWire technology and its Al5000 UWB family, to allow users to connect their laptop or desktop computers to HDTVs or projectors. Alereon said the new product uses its UWB products to wirelessly link PCs and HDTVs at up to 220 Mbps--enough to provide full speed streaming of video files from web sites such as Youtube, Hulu, and Netflix. Alereon is a developer of ultra wideband wireless chips.
