Texas Venture Investments For Q4 Total $315.6M
Venture capital investments in Texas totaled $315.6M for Q4 of 2006, according to an analysis of venture activity by TexasTechPulse. The company receiving the largest venture round for the quarter was Austin-based HomeAway, which raised $160M; followed by Houston-based MedServe, with $70M in investments. The most active venture investors in Texas were Austin Ventures, which had four deals for the quarter; and Silverton Partners, which made two investments in Q4 of 2006. PricewaterhouseCoopers/National Venture Capital Association, and Ernst & Young/VentureOne are expected to release their quarterly nationwide and local Texas results of venture activity later this month.
