Texas Sees Less VC Deals, More Investment
Ernst & Young and Dow Jones VentureOne are reporting today that overall venture capital dealflow in Texas was down for the year, but that the state had a 17% increase in capital invested for the year. Ernst & Young and Dow Jones released 2006 investments numbers this morning, saying that U.S. Venture Capital investments hit a five year high in 2006, with $25.75B in investments. Major areas of investments included information services, medical devices and equipment, and the alternative energy industry.
